Batter Up!

It is my pleasure to introduce a new blogger to the Bring the Books... staff, Jason Stellman. Jason was born and raised in Orange County, CA (also known as ‘The OC’ by people not from there). He spent some time as a missionary with Calvary Chapel in Uganda (’91-’92) and in Hungary (’94-’00). After becoming Reformed and being subsequently “dismissed” from ministry with Calvary, Jason went to Westminster Seminary California where he received a M.Div. in 2004. After graduation he was ordained by the Pacific Northwest Presbytery of the PCA and called to plant Exile Presbyterian Church in the Seattle area. He enjoys books, music, films, and well-brewed beverages. Currently Jason has been blogging at De Regnis Duobus and he will be working double duty posting here and there.

We are all exited that Jason has joined the fine staff at Bring the Books... and we look forward to his interesting and thought provoking blogs. His insights into politics, culture and the two kingdoms, are outstanding. And I for one would love to see him add to the beer reviews Adam has been doing. I would like to be the first to welcome Jason to the blog, so Jason, welcome and enjoy your time with us here at Bring the Books....

  1. And might I add, judging from his music post from some time back, I want to let you all know that you can trust everything he says: he has impecable taste in music, and has clearly been reading his Pitchforkmedia.com, lately. Thumbs up, Jason! But might I add that you need to sink your teeth into the debut album by Titus Andronicus? It's lovely, and you can't understand a word of what they're saying!

  2. That picture of the guy with the hat on holding the little kid... Is that the same Jason Stellman whose photo in the robe appears at de regnis duobos?

  3. Yeah, though I usually wear the black Geneva gown when I'm out and about town, I decided not to wear it to Disneyland that day. Too hot.

  4. Jason, you can't know how much this damages my world view.

  5. I wore it around the house all day today, does that help?

But I guess since I don't believe in a Christian worldview in the first place I should be rejoicing with you....

  6. Really, he was dismissed? I thought Calvary Chapel was Calvanistic? Someone ease my confusion...

  7. Calvary Chapel is not Calvinistic. In fact, they are pretty hostile to the idea of God's sovereign grace.
